I am a director at four different developments of various sizes in central Slough and have been using Castle Eden Management Ltd to manage all of them since July 2016. I find them courteous, knowledgeable, responsive and reasonable in terms of pricing. Issues are being attending to promptly and are followed up.

The director, Adrian Maddox, is a qualified electrician and plumber, who can wrap his head around any problem to do with buildings and suggest inexpensive solutions. It is also comforting to know that contractors cannot pull wool over his eyes when quoting or completing a job.

Though he is based in Cumbria, it has not been an issue. Mr Maddox has lived in Slough in the past and is still a landlord there. Therefore, he has local knowledge that is invaluable and a landlord’s perspective as well as a property manager’s perspective. He visits the sites more often than the previous local property managers ever did. Also, he is in constant touch with contractors to make sure that jobs are getting done to his satisfaction. He treats these houses as if it was his own.

In terms of the admin, it has never been so organised. The director, Jo Borthwick, is handling the books and budgets admirably, giving advice about financial issues as required.

I don’t think you find such a personal and caring service with any local, big company.

I deal with Castle Eden Property company on 4 different sites, which vary in size and have different issues. Delighted with the service we receive as it is not only professional but the staff all seem to care and handle any task we give them. Not only have they saved us money on insurances, banking, call out services etc, but their contractors are superb with very reasonable costs.
The last company we dealt with (far more established and larger) were always making mistakes and overcharging but Castle Eden are totally transparent and informative about our expenditure and savings.

 

I was initially worried that they are in Cumbria, but it hasn't affected the service at all.

The Director often comes down South and has attended sites / board meetings / met contractors and always responds to correspondence / telephone calls quickly.

All in all, a High-Quality company that I would recommend to anyone that is looking to change their Management Agents.
